When my laptop's battery is 100% charged, should i leave it plugged in so any battery power doesn't get used, or will that cause overcharging, overheating, etc.? Should the laptop be unplugged when the battery level is 100%? ( my laptop - dell 3rd Gen - i3-3120M)

Laptops and smartphones has overcharge protection therefore you don't need to unplug the charger manually.
These devices use Lithium polymer batteries, they are best used in between 30%-80% but if you use laptop in same location for a long time it's okay to keep the laptop plugged to the charger.
