Hi Priyadarshana,

There are lot of concerns about installation of Win 11. Last week I entered into "Insider programme" and installed Win 11 as a "Dev version".  Win 11 was then installed but I felt it is bit unstable. Some features are also not working properly. As an example I love to see my folders with "Thumbnails" but it was not working properly. Sometimes, GPU fans start spinning and stop within couple of seconds. A watermark was appearing in the down right corner of the scream that it is Dev copy.

I was unhappy and then re-installed Win 10 Pro again. Summarizing all theses I wish to seek your views on following,

  • Is it recommended now to install Win 11?
  • There there any other way other than being registered under "Insider programme"
  • If so, are there any stability issues in Win 11
  • Somebody told me that we can now install new version under "Installation assistant in MS.  If so, will it be a recommended version and appearing without any watermark? as stable OS?

Some of other your fans and supporters would have confronted same issues. Kindly share PC Guide thoughts.

Thanks

Hi Suranga,

Windows 11 is now released and you can upgrade your windows 10 version  (with your activation key) to windows 11. this can be done with ISO download or with windows 11 upgrade assistant app provided by micrsoft.

The main thing to note here is that Windows 11 is still at it's first few days of life and will have a lot of bugs compared to windows 10 - which is a vetted OS. It is adviced not to switch to windows 11 on your production PC since there will be many known and unknown bugs hindering your workflow.

My personal advice - stay away from windows 11 at least for another 2 months.
