I have a Dell inspiron laptop.It has a Intel core i5 2410M @ 2.30 GHz processor and 4GB ram.When I am playing games in my laptop it is over heating.There fore I use a table fan to cool down.I cleaned my laptop last year.It was very dirty inside the laptop.But it's still over heating.

Use Laptop Cooling Pad.

Try using a software such as MSI afterburner or openhardware monitor while gaming to observe CPU temperature and upload a screenshot to the forum.
And like @senuka-x said, using a cooling pad to raise the laptop from the table can help a lot to bring temperatures down.
