MY LAPTOP IS TOSHIBA SATELLITE P75 A7100. IT IS CORE I7 4700MQ AND 8 GB DDR3 1600MHZ. 750GB HDD. INTEL HD GRAPHIC 4600. IN VERY FIRST DAYS LIKE 2016 OR 2017 I BOUGHT IT. THE BOOT TIME WAS like 15 SECONDS. And it is very fast.

But now it boot time is 57 seconds and slow.and heating a lot. There are 4 slots for ram. And 2 are used. And extra storage space in it. Can I use ssd for booting and can I upgrade ram. And start using cooling pad. Is it good to upgrade it.  Thanks

Adding a SSD is one of the best upgrade for any computer (old or new). Just a 128gb sata SDD is more than enough for windows install and for main application (web browser, anti-virus..). You can go for a higher capacity SSD if you wish. Keep your games and other large data in the hard drive.

Your boot time will reduce and windows OS responsiveness will increase.

If the games & applications (video editor ect) you currently using are filling the 8gb ram, then upgrading to 16gb might be a good move.

*use task manager to monitor ram usage

Clean your laptop air vents & cooling fans regularly, dust can quickly clog up a laptop cooling system. It will help to reduce temperature & fan noise.

*if you thinking of buying a new laptop wait untill AMD ryzen 4000-series laptops & Intel 10th gen laptops get released for Sri lanka.
